Former sports leader Mohamed Moufid died in Rabat on Saturday at the age of 80.
In a statement, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) sent its condolences to the family of the deceased, who “had held several positions within the FRMF, including that of secretary general, the same function he had held in within the club of the Sports Association of the Royal Armed Forces (AS FAR) ”.
The late Mohamed Moufid had held several positions in both football and tennis, including those of secretary general of the FRMF and AS FAR, for which he was the spokesperson.
He was also secretary general of the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation then its deputy president from 1976 to 1995.
Between 1995 and 1998, the deceased was president of the provisional management committee of the Royal Moroccan Handball Federation.
A former handball player, the deceased wore the colors of the national team and played for several clubs from 1968 to 1972, including COD Meknes and Wydad de Casablanca.
