The day after the draw against Gabon (2-2), the Atlas Lions carried out a training session on Wednesday at the annex stadium of Olembé in Yaoundé, with a view to preparing for their round of 16 of the 33 -th African Cup of Nations currently taking place in Cameroon.

The Moroccans were complete during this training session, marked, once again, by the absence of Messin Sofiane Alakouch.

In addition, the players who took part in the meeting against the Panthers trained alone in a group, while the others were gathered in another group.

The Moroccan selection had drawn against its Gabonese counterpart, 2 goals everywhere (half-time 1-0), Tuesday evening at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé on behalf of the 3rd and last day of group C of the CAN.

The Panthers opened the scoring thanks to a goal signed Jim Allevinah (22nd), while the Atlas Lions equalized thanks to a penalty obtained and transformed by Sofiane Boufal (74th). In the 81st minute, Aaron Boupendza restored the advantage to the Gabonese. Three minutes later, Achraf Hakimi set the record straight with a superb free kick. At the end of this day, Morocco finished first in this group with 7 points, ahead of its opponent (5 pts). Both selections are qualified for the round of 16.
