FDI increases by 20.5% in 2021

The net flow of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) increased by 20.5% to more than 20.17 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of December 2021 against 16.74 billion MAD a year earlier, according to the Foreign Exchange Office .

This development is attributable to a 17% increase in revenue (to 32.19 billion dirhams), greater than that of expenditure (+11.5% to 12.02 billion dirhams), specifies the Office which has just published its monthly indicators. foreign trade for the month of December 2021.

For the year 2021, Moroccan direct investments abroad (IDME) stood at 17.95 billion dirhams, i.e. the highest level reached for the last five years, posting an increase of 10.17 billion dirhams per year. compared to 2020.

The disposals of these investments involved an amount of 13.59 billion dirhams, up by 10.49 billion dirhams. Thus, the net flow of IDMEs fell by 6.8%.
