The Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills has announced the establishment of a monitoring unit in coordination with the services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad and the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills, following the death of a Moroccan agricultural seasonal worker in the overturning of a bus in Huelva.
In a press release, the ministry indicated that this cell is set up in order to determine the circumstances of this accident, to contact the families of the victims and to follow the law in the host country, in accordance with the agreements in force between the Kingdoms of Morocco and Spain, claiming to have learned with “deep sadness” of the death of the Moroccan seasonal worker and the injury of other agricultural seasonal workers, following the overturning of this bus in the Spanish municipality of Almonte.
All the injured were evacuated to hospitals in Huelva and Seville, where the Consulate General of Morocco in Seville and the Spanish authorities mobilized immediately, through a presence on the ground and the creation of a monitoring unit. at the level of the Consulate General, assured the same source.
According to preliminary data, “the accident was caused by poor visibility due to thick fog,” the statement said.
The ministry supports the victims and their families and is closely monitoring developments in this incident, the statement concluded.
