The Minister of National Land Use Planning, Town Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, Fatima-Zahra Mansouri, underlined the need to ensure the launch of a new generation of projects and reforms to improve the living environment of citizens.
Quoted in a ministry press release on the adoption, in committee of the House of Representatives, of the provisional budget for 2022, Fatima-Zahra Mansouri specified that it is now necessary to “refresh the means and working mechanisms of the ministry. so that it can achieve coherence, harmony and convergence between the sectoral strategies of the ministry and public policies, and ensure the launch of a new generation of projects and reforms aimed at improving the living environment of the population and to place the citizen at the heart of development ”.
Last Tuesday, Fatima-Zahra Mansouri presented to the members of the Committee for the Interior, Territorial Collectivities, Housing and Urban Policy in the House of Representatives, the draft sector budget for the ministry in title of the year 2022 which, after a fruitful discussion between the members of the committee concerned, was approved by majority.
The said commission also adopted the strategy of the ministry and its general orientations during the current mandate of the government.
The presentation focused on the Royal Orientations, the content of the constitutional document and the recommendations of the report of the special commission on the new development model and the content of the government program linked to the ministerial sector as a basis of reference.
This presentation was an opportunity to underline the new priority of the ministry, during the current government mandate, which consists in going beyond the purely technical approach to adopt a new and ambitious vision based on good governance and integration. social and economic dimensions in the various programs and future plans.
The general orientation of the ministry, during the current government mandate, is based primarily on the provision of decent housing, meeting the purchasing power of Moroccan families, while working to reduce social and territorial disparities. This approach will be part of a participatory approach, based on a national dialogue, in order to achieve the diversity of the housing offer and the job offers.
“We will soon be organizing town planning and housing meetings in order to discuss various strategic and fundamental points of a future national strategy. Among which the review and overhaul of the territorial planning system, constituting a strategic reform project which aims to develop innovative urban planning and management tools and mechanisms to promote investment and alleviate the various constraints observed ”, Fatima-Zahra Mansouri explained.
He added: “These meetings will also be an opportunity to discuss the various public policies undertaken in the area of housing and to lay the groundwork for a new innovative housing strategy that promotes the improvement of the living environment of residents. households and support for investment in the sector. This meeting will allow, on the one hand, professionals to discuss issues in the sector and, on the other hand, local representatives to have a renewed vision in terms of housing to ensure a better match between the Offer and demand “.
In addition, the ministry recalls that the Chamber of Representatives approved, last Saturday in plenary session, by majority, the finance bill for the year 2022. This bill was referred to the attention of the Chamber. of the Councilors, where it will be presented by the government and discussed by the members of the said Chamber and will be voted on before its return to the First Chamber.
