Sevilla FC can dream big thanks to the fine performances of Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri. The star striker of the Andalusian team, who is making a remarkable end to the season, once again proved his worth by scoring, on Thursday evening, Sevilla FC’s goal against Juventus Turin in the framework of the semi-final first leg of the Europa League (1-1).
Already decisive in qualifying with his brace against Manchester City, En-Nesyri opened the scoring for the visitors in the 26th minute following an assist from Ocampos.
Holder of the record for titles in the Europa League with six coronations, Sevilla thought they would hold the victory but defender Federico Gatti snatched the equalizer on the very last action of the match (90th + 7).
En-Nesyri, 25, is the pride of Sevilla FC. The Moroccan striker has made great progress since his return from the World Cup in Qatar and has managed to propel his team to the top by scoring at least one goal per game. He was proclaimed the best player in the Spanish football league for the month of April.
The Morocco international was the competition’s most notable player, scoring three goals – against Cadiz, Celta and Villarreal CF – during a phase of the tournament where his side remained unbeaten, with four wins and one draw.
This is the second time that En-Nesyri has been proclaimed La Liga Santander MVP of the Month, an award he already received in January 2021.
