Elon Musk changes Twitter name and logo to ‘X’

The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, formalized Monday, by an early morning tweet, the change of name and logo of the social network by an “X”.

Indeed, the famous blue bird, Twitter’s logo since its launch in 2006, was replaced this morning by a stylized capital X in black and white.

By Sunday, Musk had changed his profile picture on Twitter, replacing it with the new logo, which he described as “art deco minimalist.” He also indicated that the tweets will be called X’s once the name is changed.

In a series of tweets, the company’s new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, assured that “X is the future of unlimited interactivity”, adding that the platform will be centered around audio, video, messaging but also payments and banking.

New developments should therefore accelerate over the coming months for Twitter. On the web, the address “x.com” already refers to the Twitter site.
