The regional directorate of the National Office for Sanitary Security and Food Products (ONSSA) 0 Marrakech-Safi, said that more than 1.3 million heads of sheep and goats intended for Eid Al Adha 1442 were the subject of an identification operation which started on April 17 and is still continuing at the regional level.
This operation, which takes place under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, is part of the wake of an action plan that comes in a range of measures taken in anticipation of Aid Al Adha 1442, recalls ONSSA, noting that the state of health of the Herd is “good” and is subject to careful and close monitoring, and this constantly .
Like in previous years, this operation to identify the heads of the herd intended for slaughter on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, consists of placing, on one of the animal’s ears, ‘a yellow buckle bearing a unique serial number, with the mention in Arabic “Aïd Al Adha”, further indicates the DR of ONSSA.
It further emphasizes that its veterinary services ensure, in a strict and rigorous manner, the quality control of feed intended for livestock and the monitoring of the use of veterinary products, as well as the taking of samples, the if necessary, for laboratory analysis.
The program of Aid Al Adha also includes the control of water for drinking animals, notes the regional management of ONSSA, ensuring, moreover, that the sanitary situation of the herd remains “good”, and benefits from ” close monitoring at the level of all the provinces in the region, by the various veterinary services of the Office, in collaboration with private veterinarians.
