Egyptian club Zamalek have announced the departure of Moroccan left winger Achraf Bencharki, whose contract expires at the end of June.
In statements relayed by the local press, the president of the Zamalek club, Mortada Mansour, indicated that Bencharki no longer wants to continue in the Egyptian Football Championship in the coming period.
The former Wydad Casablanca had joined the “White Fortress”, from Al Hilal saudi in 2019, and won three titles with the “Whites”.
Bencharki, 27, has featured in the current season with the Egyptian league titleholders in 27 games, in which he has scored nine goals and set up seven for his teammates in all competitions. Today’s match between the Zamalek club and Ceramica will be their last for the title of the 23rd day of the Egyptian Premier League.
Zamalek lead the league with 48 points from 22 games, two behind Pyramids, while Al-Ahly come third with 44 points but have three games postponed.
The Egyptian League is supposed to continue until the end of next August.
