Under the Lixus Offshore operating license, the British company Chariot Limited started drilling two wells located in the deposit ” Anchovies “, off the town of Larache.
Holding 75% of the Lixus Offshore operating license, against 25% for ONHYM (National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines), the company Chariot Limited announced in a press release, Wednesday, December 15, that the drilling operation of the two well will last nearly 40 days and will be provided by the Stena Don drilling platform.
Chariot Limited announced at the beginning of September that it had signed a contract with Stena Drilling, a specialist in independent drilling in the world, for the drilling of the Anchovy deposit off the town of Larache.
Quoted by the press release from Chariot Limited, Andnis Pouroulis, acting PDR of the British company, indicated that “Drilling operations on the Stella Don platform began immediately after her arrival on the scene“.
The semi-submersible platform, Stena Don, therefore landed off Larache on Monday, December 13, thus starting a large drilling operation for two wells in the deposit ” Anchovy“. These are the wells ” Anchovies-1 ” and ” Anchovies-2“, Whose drilling operation would confirm the potential volume of gas resources, estimated at 28.3 billion cubic meters.
On the one hand, the drilling operation will relate to the reintroduction into the well ” Anchovies-1“, Already drilled, assess its integrity, its productivity as well as the characteristics of the gas discovered. Then, on the exploitation of the well ” Anchovies-2“, Which turns out to be promising, and confirms in particular its gas resources, the quality of the reservoir and its productivity,” explains the British firm.
The results of each of the two wells drilled will be communicated after the completion of this operation, said Andnis Pouroulis, acting PDR of the British company.
