Donald Trump left Manhattan Criminal Court in New York on Tuesday without any conditions and judicial review, after his historic appearance in a case of alleged accounting malfeasance linked to money paid in 2016 to a porn star.
For this unprecedented hearing for a former US president, Trump, his face closed in court, pleaded not guilty to the 34 charges brought against him by Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg, after five years of investigation.
Three troublesome cases ahead of the 2016 election
Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg, the former president and 2024 candidate, has been indicted by New York courts because he “orchestrated” a series of payments to cover up three embarrassing cases before the presidential election of 2016.
From the details in the prosecutor’s statement, it appears that he is a doorman at Trump Tower, who claimed to have information about a child in hiding, and who received $30,000 to remain silent, a woman who presented herself as a former mistress who received 150,000 dollars to be discreet and a pornographic actress who received 130,000 dollars to conceal an alleged extramarital relationship.
