For the second year in a row, the Oasis Festival will not take place in Morocco, despite the easing of restrictions, announced the organizers who hope to resume with a vengeance during the 2022 edition.
The flagship festival of electronic music which takes place in Marrakech every year since 2015 will not make its festival-goers dance in 2021, as long as the danger of the coronavirus still hangs over the Kingdom. The next edition will normally take place from September 16 to 18, 2022.
“We are heartbroken to announce that Oasis 2021 will not go ahead as planned. We are proud of Morocco’s proactive approach to the crisis and the progress made. Yet there is great uncertainty as to how and when events will return. Oasis is a production of extremely high standards, and at the moment there is not enough information for us to responsibly move forward with a full-fledged festival.“, Wrote the organizers in a statement.
“That being said, we remain optimistic and optimistic that events will return in one form or another by September, and we are looking at some options that are more adaptable to the circumstances. We’re not making any promises, but if it becomes safe for us to come together and dance together later this year, we’ll do everything in our power to make magic ”, continues the same source.
As for people who have already bought their tickets, the Festival specifies in its press release that it is possible either to transfer their ticket for the 2022 edition or to request a refund, before June 15, 2021.
Launched in 2015, Oasis Festival has since established itself as the leading electronic music festival in North Africa. It welcomes the best DJs and producers in the world to Morocco and also offers an overview of the talents of the region.
Its carefully curated program features not only international stars, but also a host of local and regional stars, who have helped to grab the attention of the world and a whole new audience to the burgeoning local scene.
