Death of MAP boss Khalil Hachimi Idrissi

Khalil Hachimi Idrissi died this Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the age of 67, following a long illness, we learned from the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP).

Born on August 14, 1956 in Casablanca, the late Khalil Hachimi became involved in media development very early on and was, in the early 1980s, one of the actors in the creation and development of intercultural communication and community in France where he collaborated in several radio stations.

A graduate of the 3rd cycle of the Institute of Geography at the University of Paris I-Pantheon-Sorbonne, he was a columnist, senior reporter and then editor-in-chief for many years of the weekly “Maroc Hebdo international” before creating, in the year 2000, “Aujourd’hui Le Maroc”, a general French-language daily.

In 2007, he was President of the jury for the Grand Prix National de la Presse before being elected, in 2008, President of the FMEJ (Moroccan Federation of Newspaper Publishers), a position to which he was re-elected in 2011.

The late Khalil Hachimi Idrissi has several publications to his credit, including the “Billets Bleus” Moroccan chronicles 1994-2000. In 2011, he was appointed by King Mohammed VI, Director General of MAP. During the Khalil Hachimi era, the Moroccan Press Agency boomed by becoming a public information center.
