At the end of its Board of Directors, the Compagnie de Transports au Maroc (CTM) published its financial results for the 2022 financial year, posting positive performances achieved in a contrasting context.
The gradual lifting of the restrictions on load factors imposed in 2020 and 2021 as well as the maintenance of a stable and quality offer in an unfavorable economic climate, have enabled the CTM to return to solid performance both in terms of the number of passengers than that of turnover, underlines the company.
Thus, it indicates, the turnover of the passenger transport activity stands at 477 million dirhams in 2022, up 17.4% compared to 2021, thanks to the good performance intercity activities and coach rental.
For its part, the goods transport and courier business, through its subsidiary CTM Messagerie, continued to grow in its historical segments as well as in the new offers intended for e-commerce and refrigerated transport, thus achieving an increase of 2.4% to reach a turnover of 152 million dirhams.
These good operational performances of the group were however annihilated by the soaring costs of energy and other raw materials. The diesel load alone increased by more than 70%, leading to an operating loss of -1 million dirhams, down 15 million dirhams compared to 2021.
Aware of the importance of maintaining its policy of investment in its fleet of coaches and in its reception facilities, the CTM made more than 82 million dirhams of investments during the year 2022, financed partially by the redeployment of part of its assets and in particular the sale of real estate.
This reallocation of its resources is at the origin of the sharp increase in the Non-Current Result which stands at 36 million dirhams and thus a Net Result of 31 million dirhams (vs 30 MDH in 2021).
The CTM group, it is further underlined, confirms its solidity and its resilience thanks to the mobilization of all its vital forces which remain committed on a daily basis to their customers in order to offer innovative products and services, thus consolidating its position. of leader.
