The cities of Casablanca and Fez have accumulated the highest number of new cases of the coronavirus, this Tuesday, January 25.
The MoroccoLatestNews monitoring and monitoring platform, www.moroccolatestnews.com, details that Morocco now has 1,107,525 confirmed cases, 15,201 deaths (i.e. a case fatality rate of 1.5%), 1,033,693 recoveries, a total of 10,504,353 tests (an increase of 28,876) and 58,631 cases being treated, including 691 in serious condition (27 under intubation).
In addition, 24,643,727 people have received a first dose of the coronavirus vaccine since the launch of the campaign while 23,056,636 are on the second dose and 4,226,358 for the third, the health ministry said.
As for the geographical distribution of new cases recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, it is the Greater Casablanca-Settat region which tops the most affected regions, accounting for 1732 new infections with no less than 1151 new infections in the city of Casablanca.
Second region in the ranking, the region of Fez-Meknes which lists a total of 1101 new cases and a concentration of new infections located in Fez with 584 new cases, followed by the region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima which records 908 new cases including 433 in Tanger-Assilah.
For its part, the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded 857 new infections in 24 hours, including 241 which are located in Skhirate-Témara, and 326 in Béni Mellal-Khénifra, including 111 in Béni Mellal, while the region of Marrakech- Safi reports 325 new infections, of which 232 were recorded in the city of Marrakech.
For its part, the Oriental region shows a balance sheet of 306 new cases including 111 in Oujda-Angad and the region of Souss-Massa observes 290 new cases including 102 in Agadir, while that of Lâayoune Sakia-El Hamra reports of 124 new infections including 49 in Laâyoune.
The region of Guelmim Oued-Noun observed 118 new infections, including 58 in Guelmim. Finally, the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region has 65 new cases in Oued Ed-Dahab.
