Morocco has recorded 579 new cases carrying the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases identified at the national level since the start of the epidemic to 496,676.
Currently, the total of active cases increases to 4,140, among them, 439 cases are in serious condition. In terms of national incidence, the rate rises to 1365.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Over the last 24 hours, the incidence has reached 1.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the number of people fully vaccinated (having received the first and second dose) has reached 3,767,210 while those having received the first dose of the vaccine is estimated at 4,329,244, according to the Department of Health.
About the geographical distribution of the new cases identified in Morocco in the last 24 hours, it is the region of Casablanca-Settat which comes first with 409 cases of which 313 were recorded in the city of Casablanca, followed by 34 cases in Nouaceur, 22 in Mohammedia, 12 in Settat, 11 in Berrechid, 8 in El Jadida, 7 in Mediouna and 2 in Benslimane.
The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region is the second to see the most significant results recorded in the last 24 hours with 36 new coronavirus infections, including 11 identified in Salé, 10 in Skhirat-Témara, 6 in Rabat, 4 in Kénitra and Sidi Kacem and 1 in Sidi Slimane.
Close results for the regions of Marrakech-Safi and Souss-Massa which respectively record 32 and 30 positive cases for covid-19. The cases are distributed as follows for the first: 23 in Marrakech, 5 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 2 in Safi, 1 in Rhamna and Al Haouz, while 11 cases were identified in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 11 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul, 4 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 2 in Taroudant and Tiznit, for the second.
For its part, the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region recorded 23 cases in Tanger-Assilah, 2 in M’Diq-Fnideq, 1 in Tétouan and in Larache for a total of 27 cases.
Same results for the regions of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (all in Oued Eddahab) and Oriental (9 in Oujda-Angad, 5 in Berkane, 1 in Jerada and 1 in Taourirt) which both show 16 cases this Thursday.
The rest of the regions show results of less than ten cases, as for the region of Fès-Meknes which lists 6 infections: 3 in Taza, 2 in Fez and 1 in Sefrou, 3 cases for the region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra, all in Beni Mellal.
Two cases were identified in the region of Draâ-Tafilalet, in Errachidia, and 1 case for the regions of Guelmim-Oued Noun (in Tan Tan) and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (in Laâyoune).
