Competition Council: Here are the objectives of the compliance guide for companies

The Competition Council presented, Tuesday in Casablanca during a meeting with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), a guide on the implementation of competition law compliance programs within companies and professional organizations.

The purpose of this guide is to guide companies and professional organizations in setting up a competition law compliance program, whether on a stand-alone basis or by integrating it into a more global compliance policy. to the rules and standards in force (corruption, financing of illicit activities, money laundering, protection of personal data, etc.).

During this meeting, the President of the Competition Council, Ahmed Rahhou, noted that the objective of this initiative is to strengthen the competitive culture within companies so that they equip themselves with procedures and tools for monitoring and follow-up allowing them to identify the aforementioned risks for better prevention.

Here are the objectives of this guide in four key points:

– Guide companies and professional organizations to adopt a competition law compliance program, whether on a stand-alone basis or by integrating it into a more global policy of compliance with the rules and standards in force (corruption , financing of illicit activities, money laundering, protection of personal data, etc.).

– Provide companies and professional organizations with the general framework and tools necessary to build an optimal competition law compliance program.

– Offer recommendations focusing on the practical steps that companies can take to develop a true culture of compliance that takes into account best practices.

– Help companies seize the opportunities offered by free and fair competition to improve their competitiveness, develop their innovations and facilitate their access to markets and resources.
