Cirium: Royal Air Maroc straddling punctuality

In a report to be published during the week, “Cirium 2022 On-Time Performance Review” by Cirium known to be the world reference in terms of airline and airport performance, the national company, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), is part of the top 10 most punctual companies in the Middle East-Africa (MENA) region.

It does so honorably well by ranking eighth ahead of El AL (Israel) and Saudia Airlines, the Saudi company. RAM is not the first African company, it is overtaken in this by Ethiopian Airlines (6e), these are also the only two companies on the continent to feature in the Top 10. Oman Air ranks best on time for this region with 29,631 flights and an accuracy percentage of 91.38%. Globally, Azul Brazilian Airlines was named the Global Airline Punctuality Winner for 2022 by Cirium, the world leader in aviation analytics. The year 2022 has been one of the most difficult for the world of aviation and in particular in Europe, where many airlines and airports have experienced delays, disruptions and other inconveniences in the various facets of transport. air, whether for freight or baggage passengers, airport reception, etc.

However, and despite these difficult conditions, many airlines and airports have managed to perform well. This is notably the case of Delta Airlines, which won the Cirium Platinum Awards for global operational excellence for the second consecutive year. Japanese airlines also performed well, as low-cost airline Star Flyer won the title of the world’s best low-cost airline for being the most punctual.

The data analyzed by Cirium was collected from 600 sources of real-time flight information and includes airlines, airports, global distribution systems, location data, civil aviation authorities, air navigation and internet service providers.

A report will be released later this week and will include results for all the different categories of global airline data and information. Cirium defines a flight that departs on time as a flight that arrives within 15 minutes of scheduled arrival at the gate of the destination airport.
