Indeed, the main index of the Casablanca rating, which even recorded a new annual high on Wednesday at 13,197.28 points, failed to stay the course, correcting 0.7% over the last two sessions. of the week (-0.62% Friday). Masi’s performance since the start of the year has thus been reduced to 16.11%.
The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies listed on the Casablanca market, for its part fell by 0.33% to 1,072.60 points, and the Madex, a compact index made up of stocks quoted on a continuous basis, fell 0.26% to 10,648.54 points.
The “Year-To-Date” (YTD) performance of these two barometers is respectively placed at 15.98% and 15.87%.
As for the international indices, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15 lost 0.21% to 12,456.24 points (+ 21.82% in ytd) and the FTSE Morocco All-Liquid fell by -0.24% to 11,169.71 points (+ 14.64% in ytd).
Regarding the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) “Casablanca ESG 10” benchmark, it gathered 0.03% to 986.98 points.
At the end of this week, 15 sectors of the 24 represented on the stock market ended the week on a negative note, “Utilities”, “Transport” and “Real estate” recording declines of 18.12%, 5.91% and 4.92%.
Against the trend, the “Forestry and paper” sector posted an increase of 6.39%, the best performance of the week, ahead of that of “Oil and gas” (+ 2.97%) and that of “Engineering and goods. ‘industrial equipment’ (+ 2.65%).
The overall volume amounted to nearly 1.06 billion dirhams (billion dirhams), of which 774.13 million dirhams (million dirhams) were realized on the central equity market, 5.4 million dirhams on the block market (shares) and 278.2 MDH volume of capital increases.
On the podium of the most active stocks of the week are Sothema with a share of 10.35% (80.13 MDH), followed by Itissalat Al-Maghrib with 10.14% (78.5 MDH), Attijariwafa Bank with 8 , 23% (63.74 MDH) and Managem with 5.7% (44.11 MDH).
The market capitalization amounted to more than MAD 674.49 billion.
During this period, the largest drops were recorded by Lydec (-18.42%), Jet Contractors (-9.55%) and Aluminum du Maroc (-8.41%).
On the other hand, the best performances were the work of Stroc Industries (+ 8.44%), Maghreb Oxygene (+ 8.19%) and SM Monétique (+ 7.87%).
