The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed on Monday in the red, its benchmark index, the MASI, having lost ground by 0.46% to 13,296.29 points (pts).
The MSI 20, an index comprising the 20 most liquid stocks, fell 0.45% to 1,080.77 pts.
The FTSE CSE Morocco 15, made up of the 15 main stocks of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, classified by market capitalization, shed 0.49%, to 12,475.91 pts, and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid, a benchmark index which traces the performance of all liquid securities on the Stock Exchange, dropped 0.50% to 11,190.10 pts. In terms of sectors, the forestry and paper index rose the most (+ 3.22%), followed by the chemicals index (+ 2.84%), and the index engineering and industrial equipment goods (+ 2.65%).
The real estate investment companies index showed the sharpest drop (-2.26%), as did the banking index (-1.02%) and the building and construction materials index (- 0.72%).
The overall volume of exchanges amounted to 33.4 million dirhams (MDH) carried out mainly on the Central market with 33.28 MDH, while that of transfers concerned nearly 118,495 dirhams. Market capitalization stood at nearly 687.91 billion dirhams (billion dirhams).
On the value front, the biggest drops were recorded by Zellidja SA (-3.66% to 74 DH), Maghreb Oxygène (-3.34% to 390.5 DH), Aradei Capital (-2.89% at 403 DH), Bmci (-2.47% at 631 DH) and Ciments du Maroc (-2.32% at 1.856 DH).
Conversely, IB Maroc.Com (+ 5.69% at DH 36.99), Fenie Brossette (+ 3.45% at DH 146.9), Snep (+ 3.43% at DH 744.7) , Stroc Industrie (+ 3.42% to DH 39.3) and Med Paper (+ 3.22% to DH 22.44) recorded the largest increases.
