Casablanca Stock Exchange: A week up

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the period from May 30 to June 3, 2022 in the green, its main index, the Masi, taking 2.23% to 12,609.89 points.

The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, for its part, gained 2.30% to 1,018.49 points and the Casablanca ESG 10, benchmark index Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), rose 1.72% to 942.41 points.

At the end of this week, 19 sector indices ended on a positive note, against 3 in negative territory and a sector which remained stable.

The “Forestry and Paper” sector index (+22.82%) recorded the best weekly performance, ahead of “Chemicals” (+5.36%) and “Oil and Gas” (+5.31%).

Against the trend, the “Engineering and industrial capital goods” index (-3.28%) recorded the largest decline, followed by “Electricity” (-0.55%) and “Beverages (-0.17%). %).

The overall volume amounted to nearly 992.7 million dirhams (MDH), mainly realized on the central market. On the podium of the most active stocks are LafargeHolcim Maroc with a transactional volume of 259.31 MDH, Itissalat Al-Maghrib (142.60 MDH) and BCP (113.86 MDH).

Market capitalization exceeded 658.73 billion dirhams.

On the securities side, the best performances of the week were the work of Med Paper (+22.82%), Alluminium du Maroc (+7.43%), Douja Prom Addoha (+6.92%), Auto Hall ( +6.32%) and Afriquia Gaz (+6.07%).

On the other hand, the largest drops were recorded by Résidences Dar Saada (-6.37%), SMI (-5.03%), Delattre Levier Maroc (-3.82%), SM Monétique (-3. 63%) and Stroc Industrie (-2.73%).
