The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week of December 5 to 9, 2022 in the green, its main index, the MASI, gaining 2.08% to 11,257.38 points.
The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI 20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, strengthened by 2.36% to 911.04 points and the Casablanca ESG 10, benchmark index Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), improved by 1.86% to 841.14 points.
Since the start of the year, these three indices have posted negative performances of -15.73%, -16.09% and -15.72% respectively.
At the end of this week, 16 sectors ended up, against only 7 down.
The agri-food sector achieved the best performance (6.15%), ahead of finance companies and other financial activities (6.14%) and leisure and hotels (5.56%).
On the losing side, the pharmaceuticals sector (-4%) recorded the largest decline of the week, followed by the portfolio companies-Holdings sector (-1.94%) and that of real estate participation and development (-1 .88%).
The overall volume of trade amounted to more than 4.8 billion dirhams (MMDH), of which more than 637 million dirhams (MDH) made on the central equity market, 3.9 billion dirhams on the block market (equities ), 6 MDH in transfer volume and 180 MDH for capital increases.
On the podium of the most active stocks of the week are Attijariwafa Bank with a transactional volume of 458 MDH, Itissalat Al-Maghrib (44 MDH) and Mutandis (34 MDH).
Market capitalization amounted to 583.7 billion dirhams.
In terms of values, the best performances of the week were the work of Salafin (17.12% at 650 DH), TotalEnergies Marketing (10.43% at 1,377 DH), Sanlam Morocco (9.06% at 1,059 DH), Cosumar (8.83% at 223 DH) and Mutandis (5.95% at 219.95 DH).
Conversely, the biggest drops were recorded by Résidences Dar Saada (-8.82% to 18.6 DH), Unimer (-7.94% to 151.9 DH), Zellidja (-7.24% at 73.28 DH), Sothema (-4.51% at 1,375 DH) and Cartier Saada (-3.67% at 26 DH).
