The Casablanca Stock Exchange ended the week from March 7 to 11, 2022 in decline, its main index, the Masi, yielding 1.26% to 12,623.94 points.
At the end of a rocky week, the Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, dropped 1.41% to 1,018.75 points and the Casablanca ESG 10, benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) index, lost 1.70% to 947.57 points.
The annual performance (YTD) of these three indices thus stood at -5.5% for the Masi, -6.17% for the MSI20 and -5.05% for the Casablanca ESG10.
At the end of this period, 11 sector indices closed on a positive note, against 11 in negative territory. The forestry and paper sector showed the strongest decline (-8.92%), followed by those of oil and gas (-6.92%) and building and construction materials (-5.45%).
On the other hand, the sector index of engineering and industrial capital goods (+9.94%) recorded the best weekly performance, ahead of those of mines (+5.98%) and portfolio companies-Holdings ( +3.55%).
Under the five sessions this week, the overall volume amounted to nearly 757 million dirhams (MDH). On the podium of the most active stocks are Attijariwafa Bank with a transactional volume of 80.1 MDH, HPS (76.83 MDH) and Douja Prom Addoha (53.97 MDH).
Market capitalization exceeded 659.35 billion dirhams (MMDH).
On an individual level, mechanical achievements (-11.21% to 139.40 DH), Douja Prom Addoha (-10.65% to 7.97 DH), Afriquia Gaz (-8.92% to 4,800 DH), Med Paper (-8.92% to 20.11 DH) and Lafargeholcim Morocco (-7.22% to 1,850 DH) recorded the biggest drops of the week.
The best weekly performances were the work of Alliances (21.31% to 58.07), Stroc Industrie (+15% to 46 DH) and Ennakl (+12.23% to 36.25 DH), Managem (+ 8.62% to 1,890 DH) and Résidences Dar Saada (+8.52% to 28.03 DH).
