Casablanca Stock Exchange: A week down

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week from June 27 to July 1, 2022 in the red, its main index, the Masi, dropping 2.25% to 11,744.22 points.

The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, lost 2.19% to 946.59 points and the Casablanca ESG 10, the benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) index. , fell 3.02% to 877.82 points.

At the end of this week, 17 sector indices closed on a negative note, against 3 in positive territory and three others almost stable.

The mining index (-6.82%) posted the largest decline, followed by the “Forestry and Paper” (-5.55%) and “Finance companies and other financial activities” sectors (-4.71%). ).

Against the trend, the “Portfolio companies-Holdings” index (+3.08%) recorded the best weekly performance, ahead of the “Pharmaceutical industry” index (+1.09%) and that of the “Computer hardware, software and services” (+0.09%). The overall volume amounted to nearly 1.57 billion dirhams (MMDH). On the podium of the most active stocks are Attijariwafa Bank with a transaction volume of 226.72 million dirhams (MDH), Bank Of Africa (214.61 MDH) and Label Vie (170.35 MDH).

Market capitalization exceeded 610 billion dirhams.

On the securities side, the biggest falls of the week were recorded by Managem (-10.75%), TGCC SA (-9.21%), Zellidja SA and Stokvis Nord Afrique (-8.38% each) and Eqdom ( -8.26%). Conversely, the best performances were the work of Promopharm SA (+12.09%), Atlantasanad (+9.82%), SM Monétique (+3.98%), Unimer (+3.96% ) and Mechanical Achievements (+3.73%).
