The cities of Marrakech, Agadir, and Casablanca have accumulated the highest number of new coronavirus infections, this Wednesday, July 07.
MoroccoLatestNews’s watch and monitoring platform, www.moroccolatestnews.com, details that Morocco now has 537,253 confirmed cases, 9,341 deaths (i.e. a mortality rate of 1.74%), 521,671 healings, a total of 6,420,704 tests (an increase of 20,956), and 6,241 cases under treatment, including 290 in serious condition (11 under intubation). In addition, 10,266,670 people have received a first dose of the vaccine since the launch of the campaign while 9,204,753 are on the second dose, the health ministry said.
The most affected region is that of Casablanca-Settat which has 533 new cases including 433 in Casablanca, 39 in Mohammadia, 37 in Nouaceur, 16 in El Jadida, 10 in Settat, 9 in Médiouna, 5 in Berrechid, 3 in Sidi Bennour and 1 in Benslimane.
The second most affected region is that of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra which identifies 180 new contaminations including 67 in Salé, 52 in Skhirate-Témara, 40 in Rabat, 17 in Kénitra, 2 in Sidi Slimane, 1 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Khemisset.
Rabat-Salé-Kénitra is followed by Souss-Massa which registers 166 new cases including 136 in Agadir, 19 in Inezgane, 9 in Tiznit and 2 in Chtouka-Ait Baha.
The fourth region most affected by new cases is Marrakech-Safi with 162 new contaminations distributed as follows: 152 in Marrakech, 5 in Al Haouz, 3 in El Kelaâ de Sraghna and 2 in Essaouira.
For its part, the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region observed 79 new infections in Tanger-Assilah (39), Al Hoceima (16), Tétouan (8), M’diq Fnideq (6), Larache (6), Ouezzane (2), Chefchaouen (1) and Fahs Anjra (1).
56 new cases are in the region of Fès-Meknes including 17 in Fès, 12 in Sefrou, 9 in Taounate, 6 in Boulemane, 4 in Meknès, 3 in Taza, 3 in El Hajeb, 1 in Ifrane and 1 in Moulay Yaacoub , while that of the Oriental has 18 (10 in Nador, 6 in Oujda-Angad, 1 in Driouch and 1 in Berkane).
For its part, the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region reported 15 new cases in Khouribga (9), Khénifra (2), Fquih Ben Salah (3) and Béni Mellal (1).
The regions of Daraâ Tafilalet (4 in Midelt, 4 in Ouarzazate, 3 in Tinghir and 2 in Errachidia), Laâyoune Sakia-El Hamra (Laâyoune) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (Oued Ed-Dahab) all recorded 13 new contaminations.
The last region to count new cases is that of Guelmim-Oued Noun with 11 including 5 in Tan Tan, 4 in Guelmim, 1 in Sidi Ifni and 1 in Assa-Zag.
