Casa Tramway, which operates the Casablanca tramway, announced on Wednesday the death of two young men in an accident on Monday.
In a statement, the company announces “a tragic traffic accident” which occurred in Bachkou in Casablanca, near a tram station and which resulted in the death of two young men.
The two young men were aboard a two-wheeler, and according to the first elements collected by the companies, the motorcyclist “lost control of his motorcycle (…) and unfortunately the tram in motion could not avoid the accident.
“The tram driver immediately notified the emergency services and the authorities who quickly intervened on the scene,” continued the same source, claiming that the police listened to the driver, who received psychiatric help.
“We would like to assure the families of the victims, as well as all the inhabitants of Casablanca, of our full commitment to understand the causes of this tragedy and to take all the necessary measures to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future” , notes the Casa tramway press release.
“All of our teams remain ready to provide accurate and up-to-date information on the situation,” he added.
“In light of these painful circumstances, we would like to express our deepest pain and sorrow to the family and loved ones of the two victims, as well as to all travelers, employees and their families affected by this tragedy,” concludes the document.
