Canada releases $39 million in new aid to Ukraine

Canada announced $39 million in new assistance to Ukraine. The country has pledged more than $8 billion in aid to Ukraine since February 2022.

“The donations and support announced today by Canada will ensure that Ukraine has what it needs to defend its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity,” Defense Minister Anita Anand.

Of the 39 million dollars, 35 million will be paid in spaces to help Ukraine buy “fuel” and “first aid kits”, provided by a special NATO fund.

The remaining funds will be used to purchase 40 sniper rifles, ammunition and new radios for Leopard 2 tanks, which Canada has sent to Ukraine.

The announcement of Canadian aid comes as defense officials gather at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, to coordinate the military aid effort for Ukraine.
