Senegal dominated Cape Verde on Tuesday Cape Verde (2-0), on behalf of the knockout stages of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) held in Cameroon. The Senegalese thus reach the quarter-finals where they will cross swords with the winner of the Mali-Equatorial Guinea meeting.
At eleven against nine, the Lions of Terranga had great difficulty overcoming a valiant Cape Verde who played at 10 from the 10th minute, to finish the match at nine.
The Senegalese goals were scored by Sadio Mané and Bamba Dieng.
