Morocco has reserved its place in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations, winning this Tuesday, January 25 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé, against Malawi (2-1)
The goals for the lions were scored by Youssef En-Nesyri (45+2′), Achraf Hakimi (70′), while Gabadinho Mahango scored for Malawi in the 7′.
In the quarters, Morocco will face the winner of Wednesday’s match between Egypt and Côte d’Ivoire.
Note that Morocco has not reached the quarter-finals of the CAN since 2004, before being defeated in the final by Tunisia in 2004.
As a reminder, the Atlas Lions went through the group stage unbeaten -2 wins against Ghana (1-0) and Comoros (2-0) and a draw against Gabon (2-2).
