The Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) has launched a call for applications to select the work that will represent Morocco in the international feature film category at the Oscars ceremony, scheduled for March 12, 2023 in Los Angeles.
To this end, the selection committee of the Moroccan film candidate for the representation of the country in this prestigious international competition will hold a meeting during the month of September, announced the CCM on its electronic portal. Organized on the occasion of the 95th Oscars ceremony initiated by the Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), this call for applications concerns, under the conditions defined by the Academy, feature films produced outside of the United States of America and its territories, in a foreign dominant language other than the English language, specifies the CCM.
Animated feature films and documentaries are also authorized, continues the same source, indicating that the films in question must in particular be the subject of commercial exploitation in cinemas in Morocco between January 1 and November 30, 2022, for at least seven consecutive days. The rules can be consulted on the site “https://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility”.
Producers whose films meet the criteria of the Academy of Oscars are called upon to submit their application no later than August 29, we conclude.
