The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) won the case. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has agreed to lift the suspension of the players of the Moroccan selection, Sofiane Boufal and Soufian Chakla, after having sanctioned them for their involvement in the general fight which broke out in the locker room between the Moroccan team and the Egyptian team during the victory of the Pharaohs in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations.
It’s a relief for the Moroccan supporters. Soufiane Boufal and Soufiane Chakla will indeed be present for the play-offs of the 2022 World Cup, against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on March 25 and 29, in Kinshasa then in Casablanca.
🚨🇲🇦 FRMF’s appeal regarding the suspension of Sofiane Boufal and Sofian Chakla after their fight against Egypt has been accepted.
Suspensions and fines are waived. Both players will be available for the VS DRC play-offs 🇨🇩!

Indeed, the FRMF had appealed the sanctions imposed by CAF after the shock elimination of the Atlas Lions against the Pharaohs at the gates of the semi-finals of CAN 2021.
The African body had severely sanctioned the FRMF and its selection, following the altercations which took place at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, including a general fight during which the Moroccan players Sofiane Boufal and Sofian Chakla and the Egyptian player Marwan Mostafa Daoud, had been identified.
The CAF had thus decided to suspend the Moroccan players for two matches with the national team, due to behavior deemed violent, to impose a fine of 10,000 dollars on the FRMF for the unidentified aggressors of the aforementioned incident and to issue a call to order to the Moroccan officials present on the bench for their unsportsmanlike behaviour.
All’s well that ends well for the two Atlas Lions who will be present to help the national team qualify for the 2022 World Cup scheduled for Qatar.
In addition, coach Vahid Halilhodzic will reveal his list of players called up on March 17. There is no doubt that the name of Sofiane Boufal will appear there, he who was one of the revelations of the African competition.
