CAF Champions League: Wydad of Casablanca defeated among South Africans of Kaizer Chiefs

Wydad of Casablanca (WAC) lost far from its bases against the South African club Kaizer Chiefs (1-0), Saturday at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, in a match counting for the 5th day (group C) of the African Football Champions League.

The South Africans, who were reduced to nine, after the expulsion of their goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi (41st) and Samir Nurkovic (89th), scored the only achievement of the match thanks to Bernard Parker (48th).

Despite this defeat, the WAC, which preferred to leave its titular players to rest, still occupies the first place in this group with 10 points, ahead of Kaizer Chiefs and Horoya Conakry with 8 points each. The Guinean club managed to bring back a precious victory from the lair of Petro Atletico (1-0).

During the 6th and final day, which will be played next Saturday, the WAC will host Petro Atletico, while Kaizer Chiefs will travel to Horoya Conakry, in a decisive match to win the second qualifying ticket for the next round, still at stake in this group. .
