British entrepreneurs learn about investment opportunities in Rabat

The business and investment opportunities offered by the region to businessmen and British people were discussed during a meeting on Thursday at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS) of the Region. of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra.

This meeting between the president of the CCCIS, Hassan Sakhi, and the ambassador of the United Kingdom in Morocco, Simon Martin, made it possible in substance to highlight the business potential, the administrative facilities and accompanying measures taken at the scale of the region.

In this sense, Hassan Sakhi highlighted the role played by the Chamber in terms of investments, particularly through support, governance and continuing education under the supervision of 117 members representing the sectors of commerce, industry and Services.

The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra CCIS, he said, is working to establish a model to be followed at the national level, through communication and openness to all partners, including consulates and ambassadors. accredited in Morocco, with a view to publicizing regional business opportunities.

Similarly, he emphasized “the role assumed by the Chamber in complementarity with the Regional Investment Center (CRI), the Wilaya and the Council of the region, all actors who operate in a logic of full coordination, noting that there are opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the Chamber and the British Embassy.

The CCIS official from RSK also proposed the holding of direct meetings between the businessmen of the region and their British counterparts to better discuss the investment climate in the region and engage in a rich exchange of ideas and data.

For his part, the British diplomat indicated that this visit to the Chamber of Commerce aims to explore the investment prospects offered to British companies, stressing that there are many opportunities to strengthen the partnership and cooperation between the two countries, especially after Brexit.

In this regard, he noted that Moroccan exports to the British market are going to a crescendo after the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union, considering that economic and trade relations between Morocco and Great Britain are turning towards more of diversification.

In addition, he insisted on the vast prospects offered under the New Development Model (NMD), especially those related to the promotion of the business climate.

This meeting will be followed by other meetings to discuss the possibilities of collaboration between the British businessmen and the members of the CCIS of the RSK region, with a view to building strategic partnerships, underlined Simon Martin, noting that it will work to strengthen these economic and trade relations so as to elevate them to the rank of excellent historic bilateral relations.

The session, which was attended by the representative of the Department of Foreign Trade at the British Embassy and the executives of the Chamber of Commerce, is part of the policy of openness of the CCIS on the international environment and the search for new partners to develop the region’s economic fabric and generate more jobs.
