The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, had talks on Wednesday in Rabat with the Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Aïssata Tall Sall.
In a statement to the press following this meeting, Aïssata Tall Sall indicated that her meetings with Nasser Bourita were an opportunity to highlight the excellent relations between Morocco and Senegal, which are part of “in the wake of this great brotherly friendship”.
“It is a tradition which is consecrated and which is at the height of this sincere traditional friendship between the Moroccan and Senegalese peoples and between King Mohammed VI and President Macky Sall”, she pointed out.
She assured that this meeting was an opportunity “to discuss working relations and how to accentuate and deepen cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and Senegal”.
“Of course, we discussed international issues, including Ukraine and African issues, Senegal being the president of the African Union”she added.
Ms. Aïssata Tall Sall’s visit is part of the 21st ordinary session of the executive council of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), which is currently being held in Rabat, following the decision taken by the Extraordinary Summit (April 13, 2019 in N’Djamena), with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of the Member States to examine various issues aimed at revitalizing this regional grouping.
