On the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day, the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco (BNRM) is hosting, from April 25 to 30, an exhibition of old Moroccan publications (1864-1956).
A press release from the Library specifies that the exhibition includes rare titles of Moroccan publications, which date back to the beginnings of lithography in Morocco in 1846, and which owe their existence to the judge of Taroudant, Muhammad Ibn Al-Tayyib Al-Roudani.
This exhibition will allow visitors to discover Morocco’s link with printing and publishing, through titles, books and magazines printed in several Moroccan cities, including “Al-Shama’il al-Muhammadiyya” from the Imam Abu Issa Al-Tirmidhi.
The exhibition will also be an opportunity to discover some examples of the first magazines published in Morocco, in Arabic and foreign languages, from 1904 until the beginning of independence.
