The French Embassy in Rabat and the Mohammed V Military Hospital (HMIMV) organized a blood donation campaign on Wednesday, as part of Moroccan-French cooperation.
This joint operation, the second of its kind, which took place at the French diplomatic representation, mobilized several dozen volunteers among the agents of the embassy and its attached organizations as well as their families, who responded to this call from solidarity.
For Colonel Abdelkader Belmekki, head doctor of the blood transfusion service of the HMIMV, “in execution of the High Instructions of the King Supreme Chief and Chief of General Staff of the FAR, a mobile team of the blood transfusion service of the FAR went to the French Embassy in Rabat to ensure a blood collection operation for the benefit of the Hospital”.
The FAR Health Service Inspectorate has thus deployed a team of three doctors and six nurses as well as all the material and logistical means necessary for the success of this operation, he said, noting that this joint operation constitutes a opportunity to express our solidarity with all those who need blood.
For his part, the defense attaché at the defense mission to the French embassy in Rabat, Colonel Vincent Roué, welcomed the holding of this second campaign, which comes after the success of the first operation l last year, expressing the wish to “continue in the future this gesture of solidarity and fraternity with our Moroccan friends”.
The French soldier highlighted, in a statement to the press, the extensive and developed cooperation between the French armies and the FAR, in various operational fields, indicating that a twinning agreement is being implemented between the the Bégin military instruction hospital in Paris and the HMIMV in Rabat.
Counselor at the French Embassy, Emel Maurel said she was “delighted” to welcome this moment of solidarity which reflects the fruitful cooperation between the Embassy and the FAR, noting that so far around a hundred the embassy and their families participated in this second blood donation campaign.
