Binter inaugurates a new Las Palmas-Essaouira air link

The Spanish airline “Binter” operated an inaugural flight on Saturday between Las Palmas (Canary Islands) and Essaouira-Mogador, thus marking the launch of a new link which reinforces the air connections of the Cité des Alizés with the rest of the world.

When it landed on the tarmac of the Essaouira-Mogador international airport, the Binter Airlines plane was welcomed as tradition dictates, at the “Water Salute” water jets.

On this occasion, a welcome ceremony was organized in honor of the passengers, in the presence in particular of airport officials, representatives of the Moroccan National Tourist Office, the Provincial Council of Tourism (CPT) of Essaouira, as well as local authorities.

This new air service, which will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening Essaouira’s air connectivity and further promoting its tourist attractiveness, will be provided by two direct weekly flights (Saturday and Tuesday).

It should be noted that Essaouira-Mogador airport recorded during the first 5 months of the current year, some 70,500 passengers, an increase of 55% compared to the same period of 2019, according to data from the National Office Airports (ONDA).

The airport structure is currently connected to 6 international destinations, namely: Marseille, Charleroi-Brussels, Paris Orly, Bordeaux, Madrid, and London Stansted. These airlines are served by the companies “Binter”, “Ryanair”, “Transavia” and “EasyJet”.
