The Misdemeanor Chamber of the Court of First Instance in Beni Mellal has sentenced a 64-year-old butcher to three months in prison and a fine of 1,000 dirhams for verbally attacking and assaulting a Moroccan citizen who adheres to the Jewish faith and holds dual Israeli and Moroccan citizenship.
The court’s decision comes after a judicial investigation conducted by the Judicial Police in Beni Mellal under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, local media reported.
The investigation opened after the butcher, identified as a 64-year-old man, confronted the Jewish citizen in public and subjected him to a barrage of verbal abuse and violence.
