On Tuesday, the Belgian Public Prosecution requested a life sentence for French jihadist Salah Abdesalam for his role in the Brussels attacks in March 2016, which killed 35 people.
Federal Prosecutor Paul Sommer said, addressing the accused, “After he terrorized France, he decided to continue the war with the intention of killing innocent victims.”
Abdeslam was previously sentenced to life imprisonment in France in 2022 for his participation in the attacks of November 13, 2015, which killed 130 people.
