BDS Morocco (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) is an NGO that has been holding several protests amid the Gaza tragedy, demanding that Morocco drops the normalization with Israel and hoping that justice is served, so the lives of innocent Palestinians are spared.

“Through its strategic and creative campaigns taking place across the world, the BDS movement is having a real impact and inspiring many activists to take action for justice in Palestine. Participation in Boycott or Divestment campaigns is one of the best ways to effectively support the struggle of the Palestinian people” said the organization.

In an interview with MoroccoLatestNews, the Palestinian-led movement, which vouches for the simple principle that Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity said “As we have all seen over the past two weeks, the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people constitutes an urgent and serious humanitarian crisis. Today, we are witnessing the spontaneous emergence of a worldwide popular movement that refuses to remain silent in the face of this human tragedy.”
A Moroccan spokesperson of the movement explained that one of the most effective actions we can take, as members of civil society, is to boycott companies that are openly supporting the Israeli occupation. This includes Mc Donald’s, Carrefour, Puma, Caterpillar and all those multinationals which provide goods and logistical support to the Israeli army for their war crimes against the Palestinian people.
Additionally, the organization is calling people to boycott the companies which are currently active in the Palestinian occupied territories and produce their goods in the illegal settlements.
BDS Morocco and BDS global demand an immediate cease fire and an end to the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.
“We also demand the Moroccan government to stop normalization of relations with the war criminals and the apartheid state of Israel. It should be noted that the Moroccan people have clearly expressed their rejection of such normalization, which does not correspond to our collective will,” explained the spokesperson.
This issue is not just a regional or national concern, it is one of universal importance. People from every corner of the world are coming together to denounce these atrocities and defend justice, asserted the same source.
“It’s not just a campaign, but a collective and moral imperative. It is a call to every individual, organization and government to act in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We must use peaceful means, such as boycott, divestment and sanctions, to put pressure on those who allow such grave crimes of war and injustices,” further emphasized the BDS representative.
