The director in charge of the management of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, said that the donations received by the Agency over the past 25 years (1998-2022), amount to nearly 64 .9 million US dollars.
This amount includes $22.3 million in state donations, of which Morocco contributes 75%, $27.1 million in institutional donations and $15.5 million in individual donations, Cherkaoui said. during a press conference devoted to the presentation of the Agency’s results over the past 25 years and the program for celebrating its silver jubilee.
Thanks to these funds, the Agency, which comes under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI, has carried out 200 projects which have benefited all categories of Maqdessie society.
The cost of social projects amounts to 64 million dollars, divided between the sectors of construction, restoration, real estate acquisition, health and education, in addition to agricultural, commercial and support projects to the local economy, media, culture and publishing, youth, sports and childhood, empowerment, human development and social assistance (orphans, widows, elderly and disabled people), he detailed.
Moreover, he pointed out, the Agency has not received any contribution from the States since 2011, thus making the Kingdom of Morocco the only funder of this institution up to 100% in terms of donations from States and about 70% in terms of donations from institutions and individuals.
As a reminder, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency is organizing under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, throughout the year 2023 a range of activities in celebration of its 25th anniversary under the sign “a new start to consolidate the position of Al-Quds and its religious and civilizational status”.
