Bayern Munich will be without Cameroonian center forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to face Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday, the Bavarian club announced on Monday.
“Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will not be able to make the trip to Manchester, the striker is forfeited due to a problem with his knee joint”said the German champion club on its Twitter account, without giving more details.
Choupo-Moting, 34, had already missed the match of the 27th day of the German Championship, won on Saturday by his team in Freiburg (1-0).
To replace him, the new coach of Bayern Munich Thomas Tuchel had lined up Serge Gnabry at the forefront of the attack.
This season, Choupo-Moting has scored ten league goals and three in the Champions League.
