Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer organized a meeting between the club’s two players, Moroccan Noussair Mazraoui and Israeli Daniel Peretz, following Mazraoui’s pro-Palestine posts on social media, as reported by the Bild newspaper.
The meeting occurred before Bayern’s 3-1 victory against Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday. Hainer held separate discussions with both players before they sat together.
According to Bild, Mazraoui assured Peretz that he had nothing against Israel or Jews, and revealed that Mazraoui’s physiotherapist is also Israeli.
Mazraoui shared last week a pro-Palestinian content on Instagram last week, leading to internal discussions within the club. Bayern Munich decided against imposing sanctions, a decision that drew criticism.
