BAM’s weekly indicators in 5 key points

Here are five key points of the weekly indicators of Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) for the period from September 16 to 22:

1 – The dirham appreciated against the euro by 0.33% and depreciated by 0.51% against the US dollar.

2 – During the currency purchase auctions from September 20 to 22, Bank Al-Maghrib retained a total amount of 671 million dollars, the equivalent of 6 billion dirhams (MMDH).

3 – As of September 17, 2021, the outstanding official reserve assets of BAM stood at MAD 311.9 billion, down 0.2% from one week to the next and up 4.4% year-on-year.

4 – The overall outstanding amount of Central Bank interventions stands at MAD 95.2 billion, of which MAD 36.6 billion in the form of 7-day advances on call for tenders, MAD 30.9 billion in the form of repo operations delivered , 26.7 billion dirhams within the framework of the financing support programs of the TPME and 1 billion dirhams for the exchange swap operations.

5 – On the interbank market, the average daily volume of exchanges stood at MAD 2.9 billion and the interbank rate during this period was 1.50% on average.
