The security operations carried out by the services of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) for the repression of fraud during the unified regional and national baccalaureate examinations for the 2021-2022 school year led to the arrest of 573 people nationwide, including 468 suspected of committing acts of fraud.
For the rest of those arrested, they are suspected of being involved in cases related to the possession and marketing of computer equipment used for academic fraud and the dissemination on the Internet of digital content related to this subject, indicates, Sunday, a press release from the DGSN.
The same source specifies that these cases of fraud were recorded at the level of the police headquarters of Casablanca (158 cases), Agadir (71), Rabat (38) and Marrakech (36 cases).
The computer monitoring measures undertaken by the security services responsible for combating crimes relating to new technologies have made it possible to identify 125 individuals who have created accounts on social networks with the aim of facilitating fraud, and the arrest of 54 suspects among them, while the others implicated are actively sought with a view to their arrest within the framework of the judicial investigations carried out at the national level, explains the DGSN, which reports the arrest of 51 people for their involvement in the possession and sale of wireless devices used in acts of fraud.
The search operations carried out in the context of these cases led to the seizure of 121 mobile phones, 182 wireless communication devices, 143 wireless headphones connected to computer devices and several tablets, laptops and internet connection devices, states the press release.
