The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, met Thursday by videoconference with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in the presence of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, represented by the Treasury Department of the Kingdom.
The representatives of the IMF presented the conclusions of the mission relating to the examination of the evolution of the economic situation in Morocco, as well as the economic policies implemented within the framework of the government program, indicates a statement of the Department of the Head of government. The Head of Government then took the floor to recall that Morocco has just experienced an important democratic moment marked by a large participation in national and local elections, during which the citizens expressed important expectations and a great desire for change, reported the same source.
“Under the leadership of His Majesty the King may God assist him, the Executive deploys an ambitious vision, responding to the expectations expressed by Moroccans”, said the Head of government, quoted by the press release. For the next five years, the government has set as main priorities the reform of health and social protection, education, promotion of employment and administration.
The stimulation of private investment, the encouragement of entrepreneurship, the restructuring of public establishments are all projects opened by the government to initiate economic recovery in the aftermath of the health crisis. These commitments will undoubtedly have virtuous effects on growth, macroeconomic balances and in this case the sustainability of public debt, explained the Chief Executive.
