Host Australia reached the semi-finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in its history, beating France on penalties 7-6 after a negative tie on Saturday in Brisbane.
The French women missed four penalties against three for Australia, who will meet in the semi-final winner between England and Colombia in a match to be held later in Sydney.
