ATP ranking: Medvedev returns to N.1, Djokovic drops to 3rd place

The Russian Daniil Medvedev once again occupies the place of world N.1, ahead of the German Alexander Zverev, for the first time N.2, while the Serbian Novak Djokovic fell to 3rd place in the ATP ranking published on Monday.

Aged 26, Medvedev had already briefly occupied this place of N.1 for two weeks at the end of February and the beginning of March.

It is, however, a first for Zverev, 25, who has been ranked third in the world for a cumulative 56 weeks since November 2017.

Djokovic, winner of Roland-Garros in 2021, was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 2022 edition by the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who remains 4th in the world but now only 245 points behind his great rival.

Unhappy finalist in Paris, the Norwegian Casper Ruud reached his best career ranking of 5th in the world, up one place ahead of the Greek Stefanso Tsitsipas.
