Bayern Munich’s Moroccan international, Noussair Mazraoui, is suffering from a slight inflammation of the pericardium which should keep him away from the field for a few weeks.
A press release from the Bavarian club specifies on Friday that “during a follow-up examination in Munich after the World Cup, the FC Bayern team doctor, Dr Roland Schmidt, diagnosed a slight inflammation of the pericardium. This means that Mazraoui will not be available to coach Julian Nagelsmann for the time being”.
“During his vacation after the World Cup, the infection hit the full-back, who had shown himself so convincingly at the World Cup, particularly hard,” commented the German club.
According to the daily Bild, the Atlas lion, who did not fly to Doha with the rest of his teammates for an internship, should be away from the lawns for 4 or even 6 weeks to fully recover.
