AS FAR and Al Wahda Emirati parted on a white draw (0-0), in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the King Salman Club Cup, Friday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat.
The return match is scheduled for next Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
The Military reached this round at the expense of Libya’s Al-Ittihad after a 4-1 home win and a 3-1 return loss.
Raja and Wydad Casablanca and AS FAR are taking part in this competition, the final phase of which is scheduled for July 20 to August 5 in Saudi Arabia.
Raja participates in this cup by invitation of the Arab Football Union in its capacity as defending champion, WAC as the champion of Morocco 2021-2022 and AS FAR as third in the classification of the same edition of the Botola.
The Military must go through the preliminary rounds to win one of the 6 qualifying places to compete in the group stage, while Wydad and Raja will play directly in the group stage.
Raja inherited Group D which they share with Algerian champions CR Belouizdad, as well as two of the six qualifiers from the first round.
As for Wydad Casablanca, they will have a lot to do in Group B with Qatari Al-Sadd, Saudi Al Hilal and a qualifier from the preliminary round.
